Tracey Specter Recognized for her Outstanding Leadership

Perelman Jewish Day School
We are thrilled to announce that Tracey Specter will be presented with the Association of Delaware Valley Independent Schools’ (ADVIS) 2018 Visionary Service Award for her extraordinary leadership as President of Perelman Jewish Day School. In 2001, ADVIS initiated its annual Award for Visionary Service, which recognizes an individual or organization for their commitment to independent education.

Tracey served as president of the Perelman Board from 2013-2016. During her tenure, she took the school to new heights, raising its profile in the community, strengthening its governance, and setting its course for a sustainable future. She was instrumental in the creation of a tuition affordability program at Perelman. She also paved the way for the establishment of a Jr. Kindergarten which opened in the fall of 2017. Together with her husband, Shanin, they established the Specter Civics program, a centerpiece of the school’s social studies curriculum in the upper grades.

Tracey is an optimist; she understands the power of positive thinking. Determined and thoughtful, she is a consensus builder and a problem-solver. “No,” is not part of her vocabulary. More than a dedicated volunteer, Tracey is a role model, setting an example for others in her leadership, her philanthropy and her commitment to Perelman.

Tracey will be presented with the award on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at its Annual Trustee Conference and Dinner.

Kol Hakavod Tracey!
