Economics Comes Alive in 4th Grade Classrooms

Students in 4th grade at Perelman are learning about economics – only instead of just reading about it, they have their own classroom economy! Every student is responsible for their own “money,” which they use to pay rent for their desk and can cash-in for prizes. Students have their own wallets and checkbooks through which they keep track of their money.

The classroom economy is ongoing throughout the course of the entire school year and teaches students financial literacy and how to spend money and budget. This is just one way students are learning in exciting and innovative ways!
