Fourth graders just completed their study of cells and microscopy. The unit began with learning about plant cells, the organelles needed to make them function, and the way they operate as a community. During the second part of the unit, students became familiar with light microscopes - the different lenses, how to focus objects, and how to prepare slides for viewing.
As a culminating project, students used the microscopes to view the details of a pine leaf, cow heart, yeast, bacteria, mushroom, human blood smear, horse stomach, and cat fur just to name a few! Seeking insight by exploring objects and ideas in a new light - just one of the ways our students are Powered by Perelman!
