Art through the lens of a master

Perelman Jewish Day School
Students experiment with a variety of mediums and techniques in art class and explore the role of art in our culture, history and tradition by studying the works of master artists.
Earlier this year, students learned about Van Gogh. Younger students colored their own versions of Van Gogh's sunflowers while students in Grades 4 and 5 drew a still life of sunflowers in Van Gogh’s style. Culminating the Van Gogh unit, each student created part of a larger collaborative sunflower mosaic that is currently displayed at the Forman Center.  A reminder that indeed, “[e]very child is an artist!” - Pablo Picasso
