Fourth Graders Participate in the PA Statistics Poster Contest
Our Forman Center fourth graders are participating in the Pennsylvania Statistics Poster contest. A statistics poster is a display containing two or more related graphics that summarize a set of data, look at the data from different points of view, and answer specific questions about the data. With guidance from Perelman Parent and Statistics Professor at Villanova University, Dr. Michael Posner, students collaborated in teams to choose a question, make a hypothesis, create a survey, analyze the data, and synthesize their information, ultimately creating a poster. This week, as a practice for the competition, the groups presented their posters to "judges,” all colleagues of Dr. Posner, and participated in a challenging question/answer session with the professors.
The winners of this annual statewide competition will be announced in April. Stay tuned!
