Get To Know Mitchell Daar

Mitchell Daar, our new Head of School, comes to Perelman Jewish Day School with an MBA from Northwestern’s Kellogg Business School, and a range of experience in the classroom, in school administration and beyond. Most recently serving as the Director of Enrollment and Strategic Initiatives at a Jewish day school in New York, Mitch has also directed  school operations and high school counseling, and served as a math teacher. 

He is invested in “Powered by Perelman” — our unique approach - nurturing students who are inquisitive, empathetic, and action-oriented, with a curriculum that’s built on timeless wisdom and modern approaches.

“A school is a magical place because of the people who are in it. Students, teachers, parents, staff members, and administrators all make up the wonderful and complex ecosystem of a school. It is vital for all school constituents to develop and grow meaningful relationships with each other for the community to thrive. I want to facilitate those relationships between others because the best education happens when those relationships are strong.”

“I’m looking forward to the whole rhythm of the school year — to immerse myself in the community and understand what makes it tick, back-to-school night, Israel at 75, end of year Waterpark Day, all of it!”
