ברוכים הבאים Welcome to Perelman Jewish Day School.
Our students arrived on Tuesday morning and hit the ground running! New students spent time touring the school through scavenger hunts and other team building exercises, meeting new friends and reconnecting with others. The sound of the shofar each morning and lessons on the meaning behind the High Holidays inspired students and teachers to reflect on their goals for the upcoming year.
Students were empowered to create classroom constitutions, kindness plans and their own multiplication charts to be utilized throughout the year. Fourth graders reviewed basic multiplication facts by completing an Escape the Room challenge and, in Science, they made ice levitate with only string and salt! Fifth graders were tasked with problem solving through an Index Card Challenge that required them to work in teams to build a two-foot-high tower to hold a dog toy.
It’s going to be a great year during which our students will learn, explore, achieve and dream – all in a dual language environment!
