Thursday’s Simchat Torah celebration, adapted for our unusual times, resulted in a completely unexpected and incredibly joyous occasion!
On short notice, fifth grade students read Torah and each class and all of the faculty had an aliyah. And after each aliyah - an explosion of dance - one grade at a time. The excitement was contagious, spurring other grades to spontaneously join in the movement and magic! For the first time since March, after having made it safely through six weeks of school outside in tents, we were able to demonstrate our profound gratitude for reaching this day - another shehechianu moment.
The evident love for our school, our teachers, and for our tradition, was expressed eloquently through dance and song and the study of Torah. It was so wonderful to see the next generation embrace this year's unique celebration with pride and confidence!
