Mazal tov to our 3rd Grade students and their families who gathered this week for Kabbalat Tanakhim - the presentation of their Hebrew Bibles (a gift from the Kriger Book Fund). In anticipation of this event, the children have been studying parashat Lech Lecha. With their new Tanakhim, they will now move their study beyond the Torah to selections from the rest of the Hebrew Bible. In honor of this significant step in their Jewish education, the 3rd graders sang and danced to songs found within the pages of the Tanakh!
Lech Lecha in particular, and the study of Torah in general, involves a journey; it is our wish that the students' journey into and throughout Jewish adulthood will continue to be full of meaning and pride.
