Second Graders Celebrate Kabbalat Siddurim

Perelman Jewish Day School
Second grade students at the Forman and Stern Centers received their first siddur (prayer book) this week as part of our Kabbalat Siddurim celebrations. This meaningful step in the children’s Jewish education is commemorated with prayer, song and dance.

In preparation for the day, each student’s family had the opportunity to pour their love and creative energy into a custom-designed blessing written for their child - a blessing that is affixed to the first page of the siddur to forever mark the moment. For these students, this ceremony is the beginning of years more study and participation in Jewish life at Perelman and beyond.

Mazal tov to our second graders and their families as they move to the next step in a lifetime of Jewish learning! Click to view more photos of the Stern Center and Forman Center celebrations.
