Building Boats and Bridges – Builds Teamwork!

Perelman Jewish Day School
Each year our students join with Barrack middle schoolers in a Boats and Bridges challenge that encourages creative problem-solving and teambuilding as groups work together to engineer structures able to withstand a load capacity test. This exciting process takes place over a number of days and rotates between the Forman Center and Stern Center, culminating at Barrack Hebrew Academy for final presentations, where the students demonstrate their design and testing processes to a panel of teachers and staff.

Collaboration, leadership, experimentation and perseverance are all integral to a Perelman education and the Boats and Bridges challenge enhances each of these skills. Thanks to inventive programs like this, our students are empowered to become tomorrow’s thought leaders and innovators!
