The Head of School Search Committee is delighted to announce that Mitchell Daar will join as Perelman’s new Head of School beginning July 1, 2022. Throughout his career, Mitch has demonstrated an understanding of students’ needs, a belief that great teachers drive success, an ability to build consensus among diverse stakeholders, and the professional dexterity to adapt to new roles and environments.
Mitch is a warm, dynamic, and engaging leader with an authentic passion for Jewish education who will bring a wonderful balance of strategic thinking and people skills to the role.
Mitch is excited to join the Perelman community where he will play a key role in sustaining our diverse and caring culture. His outlook as an educator perfectly aligns with our holistic approach firmly grounded in Jewish values, with a focus on academic excellence. As the product of a Jewish Day School education, and having worked in a variety of roles in Jewish Day Schools for the past 15 years, Mitch takes seriously the responsibility to ensure students realize their full potential. His breadth of experience, warm and engaging style, and aptitude for analytical and strategic thinking make him an excellent choice to lead Perelman.
We look forward to welcoming Mitch and his fiancée, Gillian, and are confident that Perelman will thrive in the years ahead under Mitch’s leadership.
During the next six months, Mitch will spend time at Perelman getting to know our faculty, staff and families, and meeting with current Head of School Judy Groner to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
