Many Ways to Commemorate the Life and Legacy of MLK
Perelman Jewish day School commemorated Martin Luther King Day with family volunteer opportunities, art projects, and other special activities that explore how every one of us can make a difference in the world.
Stern Center families created cards for kids at CHOP, packed "Wee Care" bags for the homeless, sorted items to be given to those in need through Jewish Family and Children’s Services, and participated in intergenerational music and games with Generations Connect at the Watermark. Forman families volunteered through the Mitzvah Circle.
Forman Center second graders asked, “What can you do to change the world?” Using technology and incorporating lessons from the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. they created this meaningful slideshow, sharing some of their responses.
And following MLK Day, and in the spirit of inclusion, the Forman Center created a beautiful diversity garden. We are Each Unique and Beautiful, but Together We are a Masterpiece.
