At Perelman, music is infused into the student experience in many ways, helping children hear the world with deeper meaning and understanding.
General music
In lower school, students enjoy weekly classes, where they play instruments, sing and participate in creative movement. They learn to appreciate music through note reading, rhythm training, history and multicultural connection. Our integrated curriculum pulls themes and projects through to other classes in both general and Jewish studies.
Additional features of the program, varying by Center, include musical composition, songwriting, keyboard experience, recorder performance, international drum circles and musical puppet theatre.
The musical experience is further enriched by clubs, such as our renowned lower school junior/senior choir and opera. Students also perform at seasonal concerts, ensembles, music cafés and holiday programs throughout the year. |
