Our students learn a true understanding and appreciation of art and design as part of their well-rounded education. We encourage them to cultivate their imaginations, learn artistic skills, explore art history and unleash creative self-expression.
Students in grades K-8 experiment with a broad variety of art forms and media, including:
| Drawing |
Ceramics |
| Painting |
Puppet making |
| Print making |
Bead & jewelry making |
| Metal tooling |
Collaborative collage |
| Woodworking |
Fabric arts & needlecrafts |
| Portrait Painting |
Escher-style tessellations |
Visual and fine arts are also integrated into Jewish and General studies. The overlap of historical information with visual imagery brings history to life in a vivid way.
As a culmination of the artistic experience at Perelman, 8th graders create original paintings, based on a quote from Jewish literature or sacred texts that the students feel reflect themselves and their education. Their works is displayed at their middle school graduation ceremony.
