Performing Arts

Bodies in motion

Confidence. Cognitive development. Communication. Discipline. Whether it’s a theater production or dance show, creative expression is encouraged and celebrated in every child. Along with our music [link] and visual arts [link] programs, we offer many wonderful ways for students to step into the limelight.

Theater

Lower school students enjoy dramatic arts from the very beginning of their Perelman experience. From kindergarten shows to Broadway musicals performed by older students, everyone is invited to get in touch with their inner thespian. Past performances include Seussical the Musical, Mulan, Brundibar and Wonderland, along with countless original operas and plays.

Middle School students study the craft of playwriting. Each year, students in grades 6-8 perform a play of their own choosing – sometimes an original production written and directed by the students themselves. Our young playwrights study character and plot development, character motivation, conflict development and improvisation...with outstanding results.

Israeli dance

Lower school students participate in Israeli dancing, performing at special events and holiday celebrations. Along with movement and motor skills, students develop a special sense of community as they learn traditional and modern dance taught to music from all over the world.
