Robert
Saligman Middle School strives to strike a balance between
spirituality and academics, as well as between informal and
formal educational methodologies. The dual language curriculum
in Judaic and General Studies is both exciting and challenging.
Saligman's educational philosophy emphasizes the following:
a student-centered, developmentally appropriate program;
a thematic approach which reflects the students' expanding
involvement in the world around them; integration of General
and Judaic Studies; the study and discussion of Jewish texts,
creating an environment where Jewish values become internalized
and
serve as a basis for making well-informed decisions; a nurturing
and respectful environment which is responsive to individual
students' learning styles and needs; and learning opportunities
outside the core curriculum, including elective mini-courses,
visiting speakers, meaningful class trips, and transformative
experiences which link Jewish values to everyday life.
Students
at Robert Saligman Middle School, with the guidance of outstanding,
caring, well-experienced teachers, are set firmly on a path to
become knowledgeable, committed Jews and responsible citizens.
Our students go on to public and private high schools in the
Greater
Philadelphia area and beyond.
