By coordinating the history program with the Hebrew Language curriculum we are able to integrate language instruction and history. In fifth grade the history of Modern Israel is taught in Hebrew

Jewish Life and Observance
A major goal in kitah hey is to foster a love for Jewish learning and appreciation for Jewish heritage, as well as to help develop Jewish identity. We encourage students to apply Jewish ethics and values to daily living and to reinforce respect for Jewish values and a sense of responsibility towards the community, Israel and the Jewish people. Students lead the week Torah service; publicly read from the Torah; and as gabba'im (Torah Assistants) and Hagbah/Gelila (Torah dressers.) On Friday afternoons fifth grade students run the Kabbalat Shabbat service.

Sacred Texts
The curriculum stresses instruction in, and understanding of, ethics, morals and values through intensive exposure to classical Jewish text.
