Financial Aid
Perelman Jewish Day School is committed to addressing the economic needs of families through adequate financial aid and appropriate payment programs. The process of applying for financial aid is separate from the admission process and does not affect whether a child is accepted to our school. Financial aid applications are only considered after a child has been accepted, an enrollment contract has been returned, and a deposit has been paid.
Financial aid awards granted by Perelman Jewish Day School are based on need and are evaluated on a yearly basis. In order to apply for financial aid, a family must fill out a confidential financial aid application and provide a complete copy of their income tax return for the current year. The determination of awards is a formula-driven process, which takes into consideration an expected contribution from both income and assets.
Families receive financial aid applications immediately following the winter break. Completed applications and tax returns are then sent to the Business Office, and families are notified of their awards in mid-May. Since funds are limited, it is imperative that families meet all specified deadlines. Late applicants will be considered, provided that funds are available at that time.
For the 2007-2008 school year, Perelman Jewish Day School awarded nearly $1.7 million in financial aid to approximately 38% of our families.
